Recognizing Pride Month
At Reveal we know that Pride is much more than rainbows and confetti and there is still so much work to do. As we come to the end of Pride, we thought we’d share some of the biggest milestones achieved in France:
- 1985: France prohibits discrimination based on lifestyle in employment and services.
- 1998: André Labarrère becomes the first member of Parliament to come out
- 1999: The Civil Solidarity Pact legalizes a form of domestic partnership.
- 2011: A bill to legalize same-sex marriage in France is rejected by the conservative majority.
- 2013: Legislation to legalize same-sex marriage is approved! Making France one of the 29 countries in the world to have legalized same-sex marriage.
Reveal reaffirms our commitment to uplifting the voices of LGBTQIA people and celebrating LGBTQ culture and history.
We believe that all employees deserve the opportunity to live authentically and thrive at work. We recognize that the most difficult thing in the world is to REVEAL yourself … and unfortunately, today, Not Everyone has the possibility to Revel in their Pride.
With this in mind, we want to remind you that it is not just a time for celebration but also a time for some thoughtful disruption and commotion around being more inclusive.
As this Pride Month comes to an end, never forget that it’s an opportunity to highlight issues affecting the most vulnerable in our community.
There still remains a lot of work to do, let's continue to celebrate the progress we have made.
Happy Pride Month, everyone! 💚💜🤍💛💙🩷
